Alexander Residence
The design for a narrow and steep infill hillside site is heavily influenced by the prominent ocean view and the use of precise spaces to best manifest the vistas. The design for a private house in Laguna Beach adopts a gentle strategy of following the slope and making it a defining characteristic of the architecture. Extensive glazed panels on the waterside frame ocean views which then become a part of the interior.
The progressive volumes and spaces are further enhanced by the dynamic articulated elements of the exterior.
