The design for a narrow below grade site utilizes innovative contemporary spaces bathed in light while distant ocean views become part of the interior landscape.
In searching for a strong sense of materiality for the home, the rough low lying structural block from below grade serves as a weighted base for the lighter plaster element soaring above. Lighting from above and cut apertures act as back lighting in balancing the expansive ocean view out the front.
